Have you made a difference to someone?

Getting Organized:
In your Home and Homeschool

Dear Friends,
Most of you have a read the story of The Starfish. The synopsis is that someone was walking along the beach one day tossing starfish back into the ocean one at a time. He was asked why he was doing that since there were so many starfish on the beach that day. As he tossed one into the ocean he said, “I made a difference to that one.”
Powerful story! Each of us can make a difference in the life of someone. Sometimes making a difference for that one leads to them making a difference to someone else and on down the line. It can be a ripple effect. By helping one person, you might be helping thousands.
Yesterday, with the help of my local running community, I made a difference for someone. Bill and Carol Johncock are local friends who set up a 5K race each June to benefit the adaptive playground where there son, Logan, attends school.
Normally, Bill and Logan are a part of the race as Bill pushes Logan in a running wheelchair. Last winter, their jogger broke after many miles of service.
This weighed heavily on my heart. I wanted them to be a part of the race this year, so I contacted people with the organization, Ainsley’s Angels.Much to my surprise, my email was forwarded to Major Kim “Rooster” Rossiter. Read the story of why Ainsley’s Angels was established. It will bless your heart.
When Rooster heard the story about Bill and Logan, he had a running wheelchair sent directly to me the next day. He made a difference through his organization.
Yesterday, along with many of my running friends, I presented Bill and Logan with their brand new running wheelchair. They will be able to participate in Logan’s school race next month. It was priceless to see the excitement on both of their faces when they realized they were going to be running partners again.
Bill does a lot for our community, and it was a joy to be able to bless him and his son. I know he will, in turn, be blessing others.
The FlyLady has been a blessing to all of us! Let’s be a blessing to someone in our lives.
Your Home Blessing for today is to dust and vacuum.
Your Zone Mission for today is to go sofa diving.
My menu plan for Tuesday is Taco Tuesday for the boys. Veggies and salad for me.
Have a blessed day!
