Keep your Zone Missions Short and Simple

Getting Organized:
In your Home and Homeschool

Dear Friends,
Good morning! Today is Memorial Day in the United States. Today we pause to remember those who gave their lives in service of our country for our freedom.
This week we are in two zones, and you can divide the missions up and make a big difference in your home with 10 to 15 minutes a day of doing your Zone Missions. The first thing many of us need to do this week is to do a quick pick up of the house after the weekend. Set your timer for 15 minutes and go!
Here are you missions for the week:
Zone 5 & Zone 1 Missions: The Living Room, Front Porch, Entryway, and Dining Room
Monday – Declutter & Detail Dust the Living Room
Tuesday – Go sofa and chair diving
Wednesday – Hot spot fire drill & dust ceiling fan
Thursday – Move Living Room furniture & vacuum
Friday – Declutter for 5 minutes each on Front Porch, in the Entryway, and in the Dining Room
Set your timers and then take a break when it goes off!
The zone missions above are suggestions. Dusting is put off by a lot of people because of how much time it takes to move things around to dust the flat surfaces. Only keep out the things that you love on your flat surfaces. Do your weekly quick dust during the Home Blessing Hour. It will all come together and get easier over time.
On Tuesday, you can ask one of your children to do this mission. Pull the cushions from the Living Room furniture and clean out the things that have fallen between the cushions. You never know what treasure you will find! Then use the vacuum cleaner to give it a quick detail cleaning.
On Wednesday, deal with any hot spots in the Living Room. You could have some clutter on the floor or in a corner. Your bookshelves might need some attention. Focus on getting rid of things you are not using, and find a place for the things you want to keep.
On Thursday, I want you to use teamwork with your family, and move the Living Room furniture and clean under it. For some of you that will mean getting the vacuum cleaner out to detail vacuum. Others will sweep if they have wood floors or another hard surface flooring.
On Friday, you are going to divide and conquer in Zone 1. Use your timer for 5 minute decluttering missions on your Front Porch, in your Entryway, and in the Dining Room.
We will wrap up our Habit of the Month, Moving in May, and the new Habit of the Month will be to focus on drinking water. As you practice the Monthly Habits, you will continue doing them and just add the new one to your routines.
Use a check off sheet or colored ponytail holders on your water bottle to help you keep track of how much water you are drinking daily.
How did you do with Moving in May? Do you feel a boost in your energy?
Your Home Blessing for today is to wash the sheets.
Your Zone Mission for today is to declutter and detail dust the Living Room.
My menu plan for Monday is a beef roast for the guys and salad for me.
Have a blessed day!
