Are you Moving in May?

Getting Organized:
In your Home and Homeschool

Dear Friends,
Have you implementing purposeful movement in your day this month? The FlyLady Habit of the Month is moving daily. You can get your daily exercise done in many ways.
Today, I want you to play a decluttering game with your daily movement. That way you are able to do two things at once. Set your timer for 15 minutes and go around your house putting things away and decluttering things that need to go in the trash or in the donate box.
If you move for 15 minutes not only will your house look better, you will also have added quite a few steps to your day.
You can also get in quite a number of steps by doing your Weekly Home Blessings (WHB). The seven parts of the WHB will get you moving around the house, and a couple of them could also be considered a cardio activity. Don’t you feel like you have had a workout after you vacuum or change your sheets? I know I do!
You can take 15 minutes to go outside and play or walk with your children, too. Everyone needs a little fresh air each day, and it is a lot of fun when you have people outside with you when you walk. If you have a little one in a stroller, you get bonus points for moving!
Last weekend, when I was speaking to a group of ladies, I told them that I have more energy now than when I was in my 30’s. I attribute it to drinking water, sleeping enough at night, eating healthy foods, and daily exercise.
You do not have to do the same thing over and over again for exercise. It is actually better for you if you switch it up and use different muscle groups on different days. Most of you know that I am a runner, but I also do strength training, swimming, and biking. I am mindful of stretching daily and relaxing.
In bad weather, I have used exercise DVD’s in my living room, and I have a nice set up in my garage for strength training.
When you do errands, park as far away from the entrance as you can. You will gain extra steps. I purposefully don’t park close to an entrance unless is it raining hard. Otherwise, I like the bonus steps I gain.
What are some fun ways you get your daily movement done?
Your Zone Mission today is to declutter clothes from your closet that do not fit.
Your Home Blessing for today is to wipe windows and mirrors.
My menu plan for Wednesday is spaghetti for the boys and zucchini noodles for me with a salad.
Have a great day!
