Put It Up and Don’t Put It Down – Getting Organized

Getting Organized:
In your home and homeschool

Happy Friday! Did you know that putting things away instead of piling them somewhere will make it easier to do your Home Blessings? Many times we put off our Home Blessings because it takes so long to get ready to do them. This is because we leave stuff all over the house. Our kids are often the biggest offenders, but the adults in the home can also leave things in various places. Today, I want you to spend 15 minutes going around the house putting things away. This is a reverse scavenger hunt. You find something and put it away. Then you find something else out of place and put it away. Set the timer. Turn on the music. Challenge your children to see who can put the most stuff away..

Have a great week-end!
If you have any questions or tips, please email me. I enjoy hearing from my readers.

  1. Hey Tami!

I love reading your page each day and receiving your newsletter to keep me on task in addition to Flylady. I’m a Flybaby and need all the help ha! Only question I’m not sure of is the Swish and Swipe. How to do this, do I use the same rag on toilets each day? I have Norwex cloths and the purple flylady rags too. I’m finding that a hard one to fit in my daily routine and wondered when to do it. I wake up, make bed, get dressed and go downstairs while kids are sleeping to do a devotion. I do laundry etc once kids wake up at 7 and by then you know how the morning hustle goes, and by then the swish and swipe gets put off somehow.

    • Hi, Laura!

Thanks for your note today. When I do my daily Swish and Swipe, I use a purple cloth to wipe down the shower walls and tub, and then I wipe down the sinks and counter. When I do the swish of my toilet, I swish, and then I use toilet paper to wipe the edge. I take the purple cloth to the boys’ bathroom, and one of the does the S&S in there. Then, the purple cloths goes in with the towels. I wash a load of towels daily, so I have my cloth clean in no time. I usually do my S&S right after my morning shower. I don’t put it off that way, and it is done before I can really think about it.

      Have a wonderful weekend!

      Tami
